Thank you for your interest in A Taste of Culture. I am sorry to disappoint those who had wanted to take cooking classes in Tokyo or Osaka this spring but I am unable to schedule or deliver programs in Japan at this time. I hope to resume programs at A Taste of Culture in Tokyo with my annual pickle workshop in July, 2012. Details will be posted here and included in a newsletter on/about June 1. If you have not yet registered for my free-of-charge newsletters, please return to the home page and complete the form there. For now, I invite you to join my open, on-line culinary classrooms:
In addition, On March 11, 2012, I launched a new website, KIBOcooking based on KIBO (Brimming with Hope): Recipes & Stories from Japan's Tohoku (Ten Speed Press, 2012). The new website is devoted to Tohoku cookery and food culture. My book, KIBO, is a culinary tribute to the people and food of the Tohoku – the area of Japan that was devastated by earthquake, tsunami and nuclear meltdown last year on March 11.
